A huge thank you to the Costa Mesa Fire Department for stopping by to teach all our little ones about fire safety, show them how a fireman uses his equipment during a rescue, and give them a tour of their fire engine!

It’s time to start our fundraising for our 2nd annual Trike-a-Thon happening November 14th, 2015! The charities that will benefit from our fundraising this year are:

MOMS Orange County: Provides access to prenatal care, health screenings, health education, and referral services to more than 3,500 low income pregnant women annually in under served communities in Orange County.

A big thanks to Officer Hughes and Perro of the FVPD K-9 unit! We all learned a lot about what it’s like to partner up with man’s best friend to help keep our neighborhood safe. The little ones got to get up close and personal with Perro, the German Shepherd from Holland, and even saw a demonstration of how Perro searches for potentially dangerous items that can be hidden from view. All the kids loved meeting Perro, and the moms got to ask a lot of questions, too!

On September 27th, we held our first annual Trike-A-Thon and raised over $900! These donations will go towards funding the Mother to Mother Fund and subsidizing our members’ attendance at this year’s MOMS Club International Luncheon in San Diego.

This was the first event of the year that we coordinated as a Board and I am very happy with how well we worked as a team to bring this fundraiser to fruition. I am also encouraged to see MOMS Club members offer their donations, time, and support of this new fundraiser.
